DAY 3: Auckland– Waitomo – Rotorua (B)

Jointhe seat incoach to Waitomoto tour the famous Glow-worm Caves.  

The rest of the day free at leisure.

DAY4: Rotorua City tour – Hobbiton - Auckland (B)

Breakfast in hotel.

Jointhe seat incoach for morning tour of Rotorua’s top attractions - Visit Te Puia and gain Māori traditions and ways of life, before entering a geothermal wonderland of impressive geysers and boiling mud pools. Enjoy an entertaining farm show at Agrodome highlighting sheep farming industry with sheep shearing demonstration. Then visit Rainbow Springs, a nature park which showcases native flora and fauna including the famous New Zealand kiwi. 

Following the show, enjoy a scenic drive across the Kaimai Ranges to the picturesque 1,250 acre farm near Matamata where scenes from the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies were filmed. After your Hobbiton Movie Set tour,continue your journey to Auckland.

DAY 5: Auckland – Christchurch (B)

Breakfast in hotel.

Morning, transfer to to airport for flight to Christchurch (AIRFARES ARE NOT INCLUDED)

DAY 6: Christchurch – Train Grey Mouth –Fox Glacier (B)

Breakfast in hotel.

Transfer to the train station and board the famed TranzAlpine train across the Alps to Greymouth. Snake across rich farmland and along the shore of the mighty snow fed Waimakariri River. You climb slowly into the spine of the Southern Alps. Cross numerous viaducts high across river ravines to Arthur’s Pass township.Plunge into Otira Tunnel to emerge on the western side of the mountains.  Pass small farming hamlets and beautiful Lake Brunner to arrive at Greymouth. 

Seat in coach bus pick up from Grey Mouth and transfer to Fox Glacier for overnight. 

 

DAY 7: Fox Glacier – FREE DAY (B)

Overnight in Fox glacier.

 

DAY 8: Fox Glacier – Queenstown (B)

Breakfast in hotel.

Travel along the narrow strip of land border by the Tasman Sea and high mountains to Haast.  Follow the Haast River upstream to re-cross the alpine range at Haast Pass.  Then along the shores of Lakes Wanaka and Hawea, you soon reach Wanaka and Queenstown. A very scenic journey indeed.

Overnight in Queenstown.

 

DAY 9: Queenstown – Milford Sound – Queenstown (B,L)

Breakfast in hotel.

Follow the southern arm of Lake Wakatipu to Lumsden, and onward to Lake TeAnau. Enter the Eglinton Valley and travel through the breath taking man made Homer Tunnel to reach Milford Sound. Enjoy a cruise on this world famous fiord, dominated by Mitre Peak and the cascading Bowen Falls. Buffet lunch is also included on board today. Return to Queenstown.

DAY 10: Queenstown – FREE DAY(B)

DAY 11: Queenstown – Mt Cook - Chrirstchurch(B)

Breakfast in hotel.

Setting off from Queenstown, travel by luxury air-conditioned coach through ruggedly beautiful landscape and over the Lindis Pass into the Mackenzie Country. We enter the amazing Aoraki / Mt Cook National Park, home to New Zealand's highest mountain, where there is time to stop for lunch and a chance to enjoy the amazing alpine scenery

In the afternoon, travel past Lake Pukaki to Lake Tekapo, where you can view the solitary Church of the Good Shepherd against the backdrop of this vivid blue glacier-fed lake. We then continue through the diverse farmland of the Canterbury Plains to Christchurch, the Garden City, where your tour concludes.

Overnight in Christchurch. 

 

DAY 12: Depart Chrirstchurch(B)

Breakfast in hotel.

Pick up & transfer to airport by shuttle service.
