Day 1: Welcome to Auckland

On arrival in Auckland you will be transferred to your hotel. This evening meet you Tour Director for a Welcome Reception and dinner at The Langham. Your personal degustation is prepared for you from the freshest, quality ingredients, including mouth-watering seafood and delicious desserts. Hotel: The Langham, Auckland, 2 nights. D


Day 2: Auckland Sights

A morning cruise on Waitemata Harbour is followed by a sightseeing tour including Bastion Point, the War Memorial and Viaduct Harbour. Later spend some free time exploring on your own or relaxing at your hotel. B 


Day 3: Auckland – Rotorua

Travel into the Waikato region to visit the incredible Waitomo Glow Worm Grotto for a boat tour with a local guide and a walk through the limestone caves. Continue to Rotorua where you’ll visit Te Puia Thermal Reserve and be accompanied by a local guide to view New Zealand’s biggest geyser, bubbling mud pools and thermal springs. You’re invited to a traditional Maori Hangi dinner accompanied by local wine, and concert at the Tamaki Family Marae. Hotel: Millennium Hotel, Rotorua. B YD 


Day 4: Rotorua – Christchurch

Explore Rainbow Springs Nature Park with a local guide. You may even spot a kiwi! Next stop is the Agrodome Sheep Show for a taste of farm life. You’ll then be transferred to the airport for your flight to Christchurch. Hotel: Novotel, Christchurch. B 


Day 5: Christchurch – Franz Josef

Board The TranzAlpine train for your journey over the Southern Alps to Arthur’s Pass. At Hokitika you’ll visit a New Zealand greenstone (jade) factory. Travel along the coastal road to Franz Josef Glacier for a short walk to view the glacier and perhaps take an optional scenic flight (weather permitting). Day 6: Franz Josef – Queenstown

Enjoy a coastal drive with views of the Tasman Sea. Climb over the Haast Pass winding through Mount Aspiring National Park. Then your journey takes you past Lakes Wanaka and Hawea and heads along the Kawarau River through the Kawarau Gorge. Finally you will visit the historic village of Arrowtown on the Arrow River, previously one of the world’s richest rivers, before arriving in Queenstown. Hotel: Millennium Hotel, Queenstown, 3 nights. B 


Day 7: Milford Sound

Journey over the Devil’s Staircase along the shore of Lake Wakatipu to Te Anau. You’ll drive through the Homer Tunnel before reaching Milford Sound. Enjoy lunch and a cruise with Mitre Peak and Bowen Falls high above you. Later, return to Queenstown for the evening. B L 


Day 8: Queenstown ‘Day at Leisure’

A full day to explore Queenstown at your leisure. Go wild with a jet boat ride or white water rafting or take it easy on a wine or garden tour. B 


Day 9: Queenstown – Christchurch

You’ll be awestruck by the sensational alpine landscape of Mt. Cook National Park. You may wish to take an optional scenic flight over Mt. Cook (weather permitting). Later in the day continue on to see Lakes Pukaki and Tekapo, where you stop to view the Church of the Good Shepherd. You are invited to Morelea Farm, where you are welcomed into the home of your hosts Angie and Stan Taylor to enjoy lunch in their 240 hectare garden. Travel over the colourful Canterbury Plains to Christchurch. Hotel: Novotel, Christchurch. B YL D 


Day 10: Christchurch – Melbourne

This morning you will board your flight to Melbourne, Australia. Guests joining this afternoon will be transferred from Melbourne Airport to your hotel, where you’ll have time to relax or explore before meeting your Tour Director this evening for a Welcome Reception (Code: ACANA). Hotel: Crowne Plaza, Melbourne, 2 nights. B 


Day 11: Melbourne Sights

See the sights of the city this morning, including Melbourne’s eclectic little laneways, arcades and café society, on your private walking tour. The rest of the day is at leisure. B 


Day 12: Melbourne – Cairns

You will be transferred to the airport to board your flight to Cairns. On arrival visit the Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park, a celebration of the living history of the Indigenous people of the rainforest. Join an Aboriginal staff member for a fun introduction to Indigenous art and see how Aboriginal culture is expressed in their artwork. Complete your own boomerang dot painting, which you can take home as a memento of your experience. Hotel: Hilton Hotel, Cairns, 2 nights. B 


Day 13: Great Barrier Reef

Board a high speed catamaran and cruise out to the Great Barrier Reef. See coral and tropical fish from the underwater observatory and semi-submersible craft. There is the opportunity to go snorkelling and view this natural living wonder up close (equipment provided). Enjoy a buffet lunch before returning to Cairns. B L 


Day 14: Cairns – Sydney

This morning encounter unique Australian animals at the Cairns Wildlife Dome. You will then be transferred to the airport for your flight to Sydney. The rest of the day is free for you to relax or explore. Hotel: Four Points by Sheraton, Darling Harbour, Sydney, 3 nights. B 


Day 15: Sydney Sights

This morning see the sights of Sydney. Tour the Sydney Opera House with a local guide. See the Royal Botanic Gardens, Mrs. Macquarie’s Chair and Kings Cross. Visit famous Bondi Beach for an iconic Australian experience. You’ll be greeted by a local surf lifesaver before you're invited to lunch at an Aussie institution, the Returned Servicemen’s Club (RSL), with its views over the Pacific Ocean. Your host will take you on an exclusive tour through Australia’s oldest surf lifesaving club so you can learn a little about the history of Bondi and surf lifesaving. When you return to the city you’ll cruise on the glistening water of Sydney Harbour and then have the opportunity to discover Australia’s national gemstone – the opal. Later, why not visit the historic Rocks district at Circular Quay, which dates back to the time of the early settlers. B YL 


Day 16: Sydney ‘Day at Leisure’

Explore the beautiful harbour city of Sydney further. Make the most of your day and take an optional trip to the Blue Mountains (own expense). Gather together this evening to celebrate your holiday at a Farewell Dinner with your Tour Director and new-found friends. B FD


Day 17: Farewell from Sydney

Your holiday concludes this morning after breakfast. You'll be transferred to Sydney Airport for your onward flight. B
